S2B Centre organised University-Business Cooperation Workshop at Oxford and Cambridge Club in London

On the 7th of July, the University-Business Cooperation Workshop, run by the Science-to-Business Marketing Research Centre, the Triple Helix Association and the University Industry Innovation Network has shone a spotlight on the topic of University-Business Cooperation (UBC). Around 45 workshop attendees heared from and discussed relevant issues in cooperation between universities and business including entrepreneurship, collaborative research, commercialisation of research and development (IP) results, collaborative curriculum development, mobility and lifelong learning.

The workshop took place in the prestigious Oxford and Cambridge Club on 71 Pall Mall in London, the United Kingdom. The workshop was a pre-conference event of the Triple Helix Conference which took place in London from the 10th to 12th of July. Workshop speakers ranged from Henry Etzkowitz (President of the Triple Helix Association), Thomas Baaken (Director of the Science-to-Business Marketing Research Centre) to Marina Ranga (H-Star Institute at Stanford University). Presentations were followed by a facilitated discussion on "University-Business Cooperation in Europe – a comparison with the United States", which was moderated by Todd Davey (Manager International Projects at the Science-to-Business Marketing Research Centre).
